  • ActionClassify intent and extract change detailsOpenAI
  • LogicBranch: question vs actionable change

What it does

Extends the Teams benefits assistant from answering questions to driving action. When an employee says they want to add a dependent, switch plans, or enroll, the assistant confirms the request, then opens a structured enrollment task in monday with the employee, the requested change, and a due date so the HR/HRIS team completes the system update and closes the loop.

When to use it

When self-serve answers aren't enough and you need a reliable handoff for the changes that require a human to touch the HRIS. Ideal for life-event changes and open-enrollment elections that must be tracked to completion with an SLA.

How it works

  1. 1An employee messages the assistant in Teams describing an enrollment or coverage change.
  2. 2OpenAI classifies the message as either an informational question or an actionable change request and extracts the structured details.
  3. 3A branch routes informational questions to a documented answer; actionable requests continue to handoff.
  4. 4A new enrollment task is created in monday with the employee, change type, requested effective date, and due date.
  5. 5The assistant confirms in the Teams thread that HR has been assigned the task and shares the tracking reference.
