What it does

Produces a weekly written report that explains, in plain language, why cloud spend moved the way it did. The agent compares this week's spend to last week by service and owning team, finds the top increases and decreases, ties each mover to the deploys or infra changes most likely responsible, and publishes a narrated Confluence page that leadership can actually read.

When to use it

Use this for a recurring finops or platform review where you currently copy numbers from a warehouse into a doc and guess at the narrative. It replaces the manual weekly write-up with a consistent, evidence-backed page.

How it works

  1. 1A weekly schedule starts the run on Monday morning.
  2. 2The agent queries Snowflake for week-over-week cost grouped by service and team.
  3. 3It identifies the top cost movers in both directions.
  4. 4For each mover it pulls relevant GitLab deploys and Datadog utilization to attribute the change.
  5. 5It writes a narrated report with charts and per-team callouts.
  6. 6The report is published as a new Confluence page in the finops space.
