DATA OPS
Axiom Weekly Cost Attribution to Snowflake and Exec Digest
Each week, aggregates Axiom ingestion volume by service into Snowflake for trend history, ranks the biggest cost movers week-over-week.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerWeekly reporting schedule
- ActionQuery Axiom per-service weekly volumeAxiom
- ActionWrite totals to Snowflake history tableSnowflake
- LogicDiff vs prior week, rank cost movers
- ActionOpen Linear tickets for regressionsLinear
- OutputEmail leadership digest via GmailGmail
What it does
Turns one-off spike alerts into a durable cost-attribution record. Weekly, it pulls per-service ingestion totals from Axiom, writes them to a Snowflake history table, compares against last week to find the biggest cost movers, and reports the trend to leadership while filing tickets for services that regressed materially.
When to use it
Use it when you need a defensible, longitudinal view of which services drive Axiom spend over time, for FinOps reviews or capacity planning, not just instantaneous spike firefighting.
How it works
- 1A weekly schedule runs at the start of each reporting week.
- 2Query Axiom for per-service ingested volume across the prior week.
- 3Write the per-service totals into a Snowflake history table for trend retention.
- 4A logic step diffs this week against the prior week and ranks the largest cost increases.
- 5For services regressing beyond the threshold, open Linear tuning tickets.
- 6Email leadership a digest of top movers, totals, and ticket links via Gmail.
Set it up
What you configure once, before turning it on.

- 4Connect GmailRead, draft, send, label.
- 5Set each agent's modelWe leave models unset so you pick the tier — fast + cheap, or top-quality.
- 6Tune it to your dataEdit the prompts, filters, and field mappings so it matches how your team works.
- 7Test, then turn it onRun once against a sample, confirm the output, then enable the trigger.
