  • OutputPost cited answer or escalate to People channelSlack

What it does

Employees ask plain-English questions like "How many sick days do I have left?" or "Does our dental plan cover orthodontics?" in Slack. The assistant retrieves the relevant passages from your HR handbook and benefits files, drafts a grounded answer, and posts it back in-thread with a citation to the source doc. When the documents don't clearly contain an answer, it hands the question off to your People team instead of guessing.

When to use it

Use this when your People team is drowning in repetitive policy DMs and you want a single, always-on first responder that only speaks from approved sources. Best for companies whose benefits and leave policies already live in Coda or Drive docs.

How it works

  1. 1An employee mentions the bot or posts in a designated Slack channel.
  2. 2The assistant pulls the latest HR policy pages from Coda.
  3. 3It searches those pages for passages relevant to the question.
  4. 4A logic step checks whether the retrieved context actually answers the question with enough confidence.
  5. 5If confident, it posts a cited answer in the Slack thread; if not, it routes the question to the People-team channel for a human.
