How it runs

The automated pipeline, trigger to output.

  • ActionGenerate grounded answer with confidence scoreOpenAI
  • LogicBranch on answer confidence
  • OutputReply to employee or escalate to HRSlack

What it does

When an employee asks a benefits question in Slack, the bot searches your stored plan documents, summaries, and policy PDFs, then answers in plain language with a citation to the source document — instead of pointing people at a 60-page PDF.

When to use it

Use this during open enrollment or year-round when employees repeatedly ask the same plan-detail questions. It handles the long tail of "is X covered?" queries and quietly hands off anything it can't answer confidently.

How it works

  1. 1A question posted in the benefits Slack channel triggers the flow.
  2. 2The flow retrieves the most relevant benefits-document chunks from the Postgres knowledge store via vector search.
  3. 3OpenAI generates a grounded answer constrained to the retrieved passages and returns a confidence signal.
  4. 4A logic branch checks confidence: high-confidence answers go straight back to the employee.
  5. 5Low-confidence or out-of-scope questions are escalated to the HR team in a private Slack thread for a human reply.
