Orphaned Dashboard Owner Reassignment Agent
Finds dashboards whose owner has left the org, infers the most active recent viewer as the new candidate owner, and opens a Linear task asking them to confirm ownership.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerWeekly schedule starts the reassignment agent
- ActionFind decayed dashboards with missing or deactivated owners in SnowflakeSnowflake
- LogicReason over recent viewers to nominate a new owner
- LogicBranch dashboards with no viewers to a retirement queue
- ActionOpen a Linear task for the nominated owner to confirmLinear
- ActionSet pending-owner flag in Snowflake registrySnowflake
What it does
This agent hunts for dashboards still flagged as decayed but with no valid owner — typically because the original owner offboarded. It reasons over recent Snowflake access patterns to nominate the most engaged remaining viewer, then files a Linear task to transfer ownership.
When to use it
Use this when departures leave dashboards orphaned and the decay sweep keeps surfacing assets nobody will claim. It re-homes them to a live human so retirement decisions don't stall indefinitely.
How it works
- 1A weekly schedule starts the agent.
- 2The agent queries Snowflake for decayed dashboards whose recorded owner is missing or deactivated.
- 3For each, it pulls recent viewer activity and reasons about who most plausibly owns the asset now, weighing view frequency and role.
- 4A branch skips assets with no remaining viewers, routing them straight to a retirement queue.
- 5For the rest, the agent opens a Linear task assigned to the nominated owner, summarizing the dashboard, its idle history, and why they were chosen.
- 6The Snowflake registry is updated with a pending-owner flag.
Set it up
What you configure once, before turning it on.
- 1Connect SnowflakeWarehouses, queries, shares.
- 2Connect LinearIssues, projects, cycles, triage.
- 3Set each agent's modelWe leave models unset so you pick the tier — fast + cheap, or top-quality.
- 4Tune it to your dataEdit the prompts, filters, and field mappings so it matches how your team works.
- 5Test, then turn it onRun once against a sample, confirm the output, then enable the trigger.
