PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Chat command to link a Linear epic to a Monday roadmap item
An operator describes an epic and a roadmap item in chat; the agent finds both, validates them, writes the cross-reference IDs into each tool, and confirms the link.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerChat request to link epic and item
- ActionSearch Linear for the epicLinear
- ActionSearch Monday for the itemmonday.com
- LogicVerify neither is already linked
- ActionWrite cross-reference IDs both waysLinear
- OutputConfirm the link in chat
What it does
Bootstraps the relationship that every other roadmap-sync workflow depends on. Instead of manually copying IDs between tools, an operator asks in chat to connect a specific Linear epic to a specific Monday item, and the agent resolves both records and wires the bidirectional reference.
When to use it
Use it when onboarding existing work into automated sync, or any time a new epic and roadmap item need pairing. It is the setup step before the create/update, date-slip, and audit workflows can match records.
How it works
- 1A chat trigger receives a request naming an epic and a roadmap item by title or URL.
- 2The agent searches Linear for the epic and Monday for the item, disambiguating with the operator if either is ambiguous.
- 3A logic check confirms neither record is already linked to a different counterpart, preventing crossed wires.
- 4The agent writes the Monday item ID onto the Linear epic and the Linear epic ID into the Monday item's reference column.
- 5It replies in chat confirming the link with both URLs so the operator can verify.
