AI AGENTS
Vendor Discovery Agent: Research and Shortlist Suppliers for an RFQ
Given a category and spec, the agent crawls supplier and marketplace pages, extracts candidate vendors with contact details, and returns a ranked shortlist written to Coda.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerRFQ marked 'needs sourcing' in CodaCoda
- ActionCrawl supplier and directory pagesFirecrawl
- LogicFilter by contact info and region
- ActionAgent ranks and writes shortlist to CodaCoda
- OutputPing buyer to review shortlist in SlackSlack
What it does
When a buyer flags an RFQ as needing new suppliers, this agent searches and crawls vendor websites and directories, pulls company name, offerings, region, and contact email, scores each against the RFQ requirements, and writes a ranked shortlist to Coda.
When to use it
Use it for sourcing in unfamiliar categories where you don't have an incumbent vendor list. It turns hours of manual supplier hunting into a reviewable shortlist with sources attached.
How it works
- 1A buyer marks an RFQ row as 'needs sourcing' in Coda (trigger).
- 2The agent builds search queries from the RFQ category and specs.
- 3Firecrawl crawls the candidate supplier pages and directory listings.
- 4A logic step filters out vendors missing contact info or outside the required region.
- 5The agent ranks remaining suppliers by fit and writes the shortlist, with source URLs, back to Coda.
- 6The buyer is pinged in Slack to review and select who to invite.
Set it up
