Axiom Daily Cost-Attribution Digest
Each morning, breaks down yesterday's Axiom ingest by team and service, attributes projected dollar cost per owner.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerDaily 8am schedule
- ActionQuery yesterday's ingest grouped by team tagAxiom
- LogicAttribute projected dollars per team via rate card
- LogicRank teams and compute day-over-day movement
- OutputPost chargeback digest to SlackSlack
What it does
This workflow makes log cost visible per team. Every morning it queries yesterday's Axiom ingest grouped by a team/service tag, converts bytes to a projected dollar figure using your rate card, ranks owners from highest to lowest, and posts a chargeback digest. Teams stop treating logging as free.
When to use it
Use it when log cost is centralized but spend is decentralized, and you want gentle social pressure plus data for chargeback conversations — without standing up a full FinOps tool.
How it works
- 1A daily schedule fires at 8am.
- 2Query Axiom for prior-day ingested bytes grouped by the team tag.
- 3A logic step maps bytes to projected monthly dollars per team using the configured rate card and flags any team over its share.
- 4Build a ranked digest with day-over-day movement arrows.
- 5Post the team-by-team chargeback digest to Slack, highlighting the biggest movers.
Set it up
What you configure once, before turning it on.
- 1Connect AxiomLog streams, queries, dashboards.
- 2Connect SlackChannels, DMs, threads, mentions.
- 3Set each agent's modelWe leave models unset so you pick the tier — fast + cheap, or top-quality.
- 4Tune it to your dataEdit the prompts, filters, and field mappings so it matches how your team works.
- 5Test, then turn it onRun once against a sample, confirm the output, then enable the trigger.
