Champion Bounce Detector with Multi-Thread Re-Anchor Play
Watches for hard email bounces from a deal's primary contact, confirms the champion has left, and fires a coordinated re-anchor play across HubSpot, Slack, and a backfill…
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerGmail bounce notification receivedGmail
- LogicConfirm permanent 5xx bounce on open-deal contact
- ActionLook up contact, deal, and alternate company contactsHubSpot
- ActionTag deal champion-at-risk and create owner taskHubSpot
- ActionDraft re-anchor email to strongest alternate contactGmail
- OutputAlert owning rep in Slack with deal link and draftSlack
What it does
When an email to a deal's primary contact hard-bounces, this workflow treats it as a possible champion departure. It verifies the bounce is terminal (not a transient outage), flags the deal at risk in HubSpot, alerts the owning rep in Slack, and drafts a re-anchor email to the next-best contact on the account so the relationship doesn't go dark.
When to use it
Run this on any pipeline where a single champion carries the deal. Bounces are the earliest signal a buyer has changed jobs, often weeks before the CRM owner notices. Catching it fast lets you re-anchor before momentum and context are lost.
How it works
- 1A Gmail bounce notification triggers the flow.
- 2A filter confirms the bounce is a permanent 5xx failure tied to a contact on an open HubSpot deal.
- 3HubSpot looks up the contact, deal, and other contacts on the same company.
- 4The deal is tagged "champion-at-risk" and a task is created for the owner.
- 5A re-anchor draft email is prepared in Gmail addressed to the strongest alternate contact.
- 6Slack delivers the alert with the deal link and draft to the rep.
