Champion Job-Change Verifier via Bounce plus Web Enrichment
When a champion's email bounces, enriches the web to confirm they changed jobs, records the new role, and opens both a follow-the-person and a backfill-the-account play.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerGmail hard-bounce on tracked contactGmail
- ActionSearch web for contact's new employer and titleExa
- LogicBranch on confident job-change match
- ActionLog new role and create follow-the-champion dealHubSpot
- ActionFlag original account for new anchor contactHubSpot
- OutputNotify rep with new-logo lead and at-risk accountSlack
What it does
A bounce alone doesn't tell you where your champion went. This workflow takes a bounced contact, runs an Exa web search to find their new company and title, and writes the finding back to HubSpot. It then splits into two plays: chase the person at their new employer (warm intro, new logo) and stabilize the existing account with a fresh anchor contact.
When to use it
Use it when champion turnover is your biggest silent pipeline leak and you want every departure to generate a new opportunity rather than just a closed-lost. Best for teams that sell to roles that move often.
How it works
- 1A Gmail hard-bounce on a tracked contact starts the flow.
- 2Exa searches the web for the contact's current employer and title.
- 3A branch checks whether a confident job-change match was found.
- 4If confirmed, HubSpot logs the new role and creates a "follow the champion" deal at the new company.
- 5HubSpot also flags the original account as needing a new anchor contact.
- 6Slack notifies the rep with both the new-logo lead and the at-risk account.
