Coda Blocker Rows Escalated to Teams and Tracked in Asana
Daily, scans a Coda doc for rows flagged as blocked, uses OpenAI to draft an escalation note per blocker, alerts the owning manager in Teams.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerWeekday morning schedule fires
- ActionRead tracker rows from CodaCoda

- ActionAlert owning manager in TeamsMicrosoft Teams
- OutputOpen tracking task in AsanaAsana
What it does
Finds blocked items in a Coda tracker each day, writes a clear escalation note for each, pings the right manager in Teams, and creates an Asana follow-up task so nothing stalls silently.
When to use it
Use this when teams mark blockers in Coda but those blockers tend to sit unaddressed because no one routes them. This makes escalation automatic and accountable.
How it works
- 1A daily schedule fires each weekday morning.
- 2The flow reads the Coda table and a logic step filters to rows where status equals blocked and the blocker is unresolved.
- 3For each blocker, OpenAI drafts a concise escalation note naming the item, the owner, how long it has been blocked, and the ask.
- 4A Teams message is sent to the owning manager with the note.
- 5An Asana task is created for each blocker, assigned to the owner with a due date, to track resolution.
Set it up
What you configure once, before turning it on.
- 1Connect CodaDocs, packs, automations.
- 2Connect OpenAIModels, embeddings, files.
- 3Connect Microsoft TeamsChannels, chats, files.
- 4Connect AsanaTasks, projects, milestones — everywhere.
- 5Set each agent's modelWe leave models unset so you pick the tier — fast + cheap, or top-quality.
- 6Tune it to your dataEdit the prompts, filters, and field mappings so it matches how your team works.
- 7Test, then turn it onRun once against a sample, confirm the output, then enable the trigger.
