PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Propagate a monday.com timeline slip across linked boards
When a monday.com item's timeline end date moves later, it follows cross-board dependency connect-columns and shifts linked items on other teams' boards.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- Triggermonday item timeline changedmonday.com
- LogicCalculate slip; ignore pull-ins
- ActionResolve linked items on downstream boardsmonday.com
- ActionShift linked item timelines by the slipmonday.com
- OutputLog change to central tracker boardmonday.com
What it does
This workflow propagates a schedule slip across team boundaries in monday.com. When an upstream item's timeline ends later than planned, it reads the dependency connect-column to find linked items on other boards and shifts their timelines by the same amount so each team sees the new reality.
When to use it
Reach for it in organizations where each team owns its own monday board but work is chained across them, and an upstream delay needs to surface on partner boards automatically instead of through status-meeting surprises.
How it works
- 1A monday webhook fires when an item's Timeline column changes.
- 2A logic step calculates the slip and ignores pull-ins or no-ops.
- 3The workflow resolves the dependency connect-column to linked items on downstream boards.
- 4Each linked item's timeline is shifted forward by the slip, preserving its original duration.
- 5The change is written as a row in a central cross-team tracker board for an audit trail.
Set it up
What you configure once, before turning it on.

- 3Tune it to your dataEdit the prompts, filters, and field mappings so it matches how your team works.
- 4Test, then turn it onRun once against a sample, confirm the output, then enable the trigger.
