Competitor Earnings Theme Discovery Brief (Agent)
An agent finds and reads the latest earnings transcripts for a named competitor set, clusters the recurring themes across all of them.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerAnalyst starts run with competitor set + quarter
- ActionFind each transcript / IR pageExa
- ActionScrape located transcriptsFirecrawl
- LogicCluster themes across companies, flag outliers
- OutputWrite synthesized cross-competitor briefCoda
What it does
Goes beyond per-company extraction to synthesis. Given a competitor set, the agent locates each company's most recent earnings transcript, reads them, then reasons across the whole set to identify shared industry narratives ("everyone is cutting capex," "three of five are repositioning around AI agents") versus company-specific bets. It produces a narrative brief, not just a grid, including which competitors are converging and which are outliers.
When to use it
When you want an analyst-style synthesis after earnings season — a brief you could hand to a strategy or exec team — rather than a deterministic cell-by-cell extraction.
How it works
- 1A team member kicks off the run with the competitor set and target quarter.
- 2The agent uses Exa to find each company's official transcript or investor-relations page.
- 3Firecrawl scrapes the located transcripts to clean text.
- 4The agent reads all transcripts, clusters themes across companies, and flags convergence and outliers, citing supporting quotes.
- 5The synthesized cross-competitor brief is written into a Coda doc for the strategy team.
Set it up
What you configure once, before turning it on.
- 1Connect ExaNeural search across the web.
- 2Connect FirecrawlCrawl, scrape, structured extract.
- 3Connect CodaDocs, packs, automations.

- 5Tune it to your dataEdit the prompts, filters, and field mappings so it matches how your team works.
- 6Test, then turn it onRun once against a sample, confirm the output, then enable the trigger.
