What it does

Catches accounts whose API consumption is trending toward their quota ceiling and converts that trajectory into a proactive usage-tier upsell, so the customer upgrades on a value conversation instead of hitting throttling.

When to use it

Use this for consumption-based products billed on API calls or compute where overages create friction. Best when your usage metrics live in Snowflake and your CRM is HubSpot.

How it works

  1. 1An hourly schedule triggers the check.
  2. 2A Snowflake query projects each account's month-end API usage from its current run rate.
  3. 3A logic step flags accounts projected to exceed 100% of quota and excludes any already on the top tier.
  4. 4A HubSpot step creates or updates an upsell deal with the projected overage and recommended tier as proof points.
  5. 5A Microsoft Teams step posts the alert to the account team channel with the deal link.
