Overdue Accrual Escalation Emails to Owners and Managers
On a schedule it flags uncoded spend that has stayed open past the chase deadline and emails each delinquent owner via Gmail.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerSchedule fires near books-lock deadline
- ActionQuery Snowflake for still-open uncoded spend with ageSnowflake
- LogicSplit owners into normal vs escalated by age/amount
- ActionEmail owners via Gmail, CC manager on escalationsGmail
- OutputLog emailed and escalated owners to SlackSlack
What it does
This is the escalation arm of the accrual chase. It checks which uncoded transactions are still open after the first reminders, applies an aging rule, and emails delinquent department owners through Gmail with their outstanding list. When an item ages past the escalation threshold, the manager is automatically CC'd so the pressure climbs without anyone in finance writing a single email.
When to use it
Run it in the final 24-48 hours before books lock, after the initial Slack chase has gone out, when a stubborn subset of owners still have not coded their spend and you need a documented, escalating paper trail.
How it works
- 1A schedule fires near the close deadline.
- 2Snowflake returns still-open uncoded spend with the date it first appeared.
- 3A logic step splits owners into normal vs escalated based on days open and dollar threshold.
- 4A Gmail action emails each owner their itemized list; escalated owners get their manager CC'd.
- 5An output logs who was emailed and escalated to the finance close channel via Slack.
