SUMMARIZATION
Auto-transcribe Looms shared in Slack and reply in-thread with steps
Detects when a Loom link is posted in a Slack channel, transcribes the video, and replies in the same thread with a collapsed step-by-step summary and jump-to-chapter timestamps.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerNew message posted in watched Slack channelSlack
- LogicFilter: message contains a Loom URL
- ActionFetch transcript and chapters from LoomLoom
- ActionCondense into step summary with chapter timestampsOpenAI
- OutputReply in the original Slack threadSlack
What it does
Whenever someone shares a Loom link in a watched Slack channel, this workflow quietly transcribes the video and replies in that thread with a concise step-by-step summary and a list of chapter timestamps that link to each moment — so teammates can read the gist without watching.
When to use it
Your team shares Looms in Slack but not everyone has time to watch them. Use this to make every shared recording instantly skimmable right where it was posted, cutting "can you TLDR this" replies.
How it works
- 1A new message in a designated Slack channel triggers the workflow.
- 2A logic step checks whether the message contains a Loom URL; non-Loom messages are ignored.
- 3The workflow fetches the transcript and chapter markers for the linked video from Loom.
- 4An AI step condenses the transcript into a short step-by-step summary plus a timestamped chapter list with deep links.
- 5The summary is posted as a threaded reply to the original Slack message, keeping the context exactly where the link was shared.
Set it up
What you configure once, before turning it on.
- 1Connect SlackChannels, DMs, threads, mentions.
- 2Connect LoomVideo transcripts, libraries.
- 3Connect OpenAIModels, embeddings, files.
- 4Set each agent's modelWe leave models unset so you pick the tier — fast + cheap, or top-quality.
- 5Tune it to your dataEdit the prompts, filters, and field mappings so it matches how your team works.
- 6Test, then turn it onRun once against a sample, confirm the output, then enable the trigger.
