Trigger team handoff when an onboarding milestone completes
When a ClickUp onboarding milestone is marked done, notifies the next team in line, advances the customer record, and posts a celebratory update so handoffs never drop.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerClickUp milestone marked completeClickUp
- LogicRoute by milestone type to next team
- ActionAdvance customer stage in HubSpotHubSpot
- ActionAssign next milestone ownerClickUp
- OutputPost handoff to next team's channelSlack
What it does
The moment an onboarding milestone is completed in ClickUp, this workflow fires the handoff: it tells the next responsible team they are up, updates the customer's stage, and announces progress to the account channel so nobody waits on a stale status.
When to use it
Use it when onboarding moves through stages owned by different teams (e.g. kickoff to integration to go-live) and momentum dies in the gaps between owners. It makes a completed milestone immediately actionable for whoever is next.
How it works
- 1A ClickUp event fires when a task in the onboarding list moves to a Complete status.
- 2A branch reads the milestone type to decide which team owns the next stage.
- 3The flow updates the customer's HubSpot stage to reflect the new phase.
- 4It assigns the next milestone's owner in ClickUp.
- 5It posts a handoff message to the destination team's Slack channel naming the customer, what just finished, and what they now own.
Set it up
