PROJECT MANAGEMENT
On-Demand Catch-Up Brief for Returning Squad Members
When a squad member asks the CEO agent for a catch-up, it reads what changed in Linear and the recent handoff Slack thread since they last signed off and replies…
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerMember asks the agent for a catch-up in chat
- ActionRead Linear changes to the member's issues since last activeLinear
- ActionScan recent Slack handoff thread for decisionsSlack
- LogicRank what is personally relevant versus general noise
- OutputReply with a tailored catch-up brief in chatOpenAI
What it does
Gives a returning team member an instant, personalized rundown. They ask in chat — "what did I miss?" — and the agent reconstructs the gap: issues that moved on their projects, blockers raised, and decisions taken while they were offline, ending with the items now waiting on them.
When to use it
For anyone rejoining after their off-hours in a follow-the-sun rotation who doesn't want to scroll a full day of activity. Especially handy after weekends or PTO when the backlog of context is large.
How it works
- 1A chat trigger fires when a member asks the agent for a catch-up.
- 2The agent determines the member's last-active window and the projects they own.
- 3Reads Linear for changes to those issues since that window and scans the recent Slack handoff thread for relevant decisions.
- 4A reasoning step ranks what matters to this specific person versus general noise.
- 5Replies in chat with a tailored brief: what changed, what's blocked, and the short list of items now on their plate.
Set it up
What you configure once, before turning it on.
- 1Connect LinearIssues, projects, cycles, triage.
- 2Connect SlackChannels, DMs, threads, mentions.
- 3Connect OpenAIModels, embeddings, files.
- 4Set each agent's modelWe leave models unset so you pick the tier — fast + cheap, or top-quality.
- 5Tune it to your dataEdit the prompts, filters, and field mappings so it matches how your team works.
- 6Test, then turn it onRun once against a sample, confirm the output, then enable the trigger.
