Escalate cards moved to Blocked to the on-call owner
Fires the moment a Trello card enters a Blocked list, starts an aging timer, and if the blocker is not cleared within the SLA window pages the on-call owner and books a 15-minute…
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerCard moved into Blocked list (webhook)Trello
- LogicStart SLA timer and re-check block status
- ActionPage on-call owner if still blockedSlack
- OutputBook 15-min unblock sync on calendarGoogle Calendar
What it does
This workflow reacts in real time when a card is moved into a Blocked list on Trello. It records when the block started and watches the SLA window. If the card is still blocked when the window expires, it escalates by paging the on-call owner in Slack and putting a short unblock sync on their calendar so the obstacle gets attention before it ages further.
When to use it
Use it for teams that track blockers as a board column and need a guarantee that nothing sits blocked silently. It turns a passive Blocked list into an active SLA with a clear escalation path.
How it works
- 1A Trello webhook fires when a card is moved into the Blocked list.
- 2A logic step starts the SLA timer and waits for the configured window, re-checking the card's list.
- 3If the card has been unblocked, the run ends quietly.
- 4If it is still blocked past SLA, the on-call owner is paged in Slack.
- 5A 15-minute unblock sync is booked on Google Calendar with the owner and reporter.
Set it up
What you configure once, before turning it on.
- 1Connect TrelloKanban boards for everything.
- 2Connect SlackChannels, DMs, threads, mentions.
- 3Connect Google CalendarEvents, attendees, availability.
- 4Set each agent's modelWe leave models unset so you pick the tier — fast + cheap, or top-quality.
- 5Tune it to your dataEdit the prompts, filters, and field mappings so it matches how your team works.
- 6Test, then turn it onRun once against a sample, confirm the output, then enable the trigger.
