AI AGENTS
Slack Slash Question to Grounded, Cited Answer
An operator asks a question via a Slack message; the agent researches the web plus your internal Google Drive docs and replies in-thread with a grounded answer and clickable…
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerQuestion posted in watched Slack channelSlack
- ActionSearch internal docs in Google DriveGoogle Drive
- ActionSearch the web with ExaExa
- LogicDecide if web grounding is needed
- ActionCompose cited answer (OpenAI)OpenAI
- OutputReply in the Slack thread with sourcesSlack
What it does
Lets anyone get a sourced answer without leaving Slack. A question posted to a watched channel triggers the agent, which researches both the open web and your internal Google Drive documents, then replies in the same thread with a concise answer where each point links to its source.
When to use it
When teammates keep asking questions in Slack that require digging through both internal docs and the web, and you want fast, grounded, cited replies instead of "let me get back to you."
How it works
- 1A message in a designated Slack channel triggers the flow.
- 2The agent searches internal documents in Google Drive for relevant context.
- 3Exa searches the web for current public sources.
- 4A logic step decides whether internal context alone suffices or web grounding is needed.
- 5OpenAI composes a concise answer, citing each claim to a Drive doc or web URL.
- 6The agent replies in the original Slack thread with the cited answer.
Set it up
What you configure once, before turning it on.
- 1Connect SlackChannels, DMs, threads, mentions.
- 2Connect Google DriveDocs, sheets, slides, files.
- 3Connect ExaNeural search across the web.
- 4Connect OpenAIModels, embeddings, files.
- 5Set each agent's modelWe leave models unset so you pick the tier — fast + cheap, or top-quality.
- 6Tune it to your dataEdit the prompts, filters, and field mappings so it matches how your team works.
- 7Test, then turn it onRun once against a sample, confirm the output, then enable the trigger.
