VIP spike correlated to the deploy that caused it
Correlates a per-account error spike against recent GitHub deploys to name the likely culprit release.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerSentry alert fires for account-tagged issueSentry
- ActionList GitHub deployments just before the spikeGitHub
- LogicMatch first-seen time + release to nearest deploy
- ActionEstimate blast radius across other accounts in SentrySentry
- OutputNotify deploy author + CSM with suspect commit in SlackSlack
What it does
Connects a VIP account's error spike to the change that probably caused it. Instead of just flagging the symptom, it surfaces the suspect deploy and loops in both the CSM and the engineer who shipped it.
When to use it
Use this when regressions usually trace back to a recent release and you want the proactive heads-up to include a root-cause lead, shortening time-to-fix for high-value accounts.
How it works
- 1A Sentry alert fires for an account-tagged issue with its first-seen timestamp.
- 2The flow lists GitHub deployments in the window just before the spike began.
- 3A logic step matches the issue's first-seen time and affected release to the nearest preceding deploy to pick the prime suspect.
- 4It estimates blast radius by checking whether other accounts hit the same issue in Sentry.
- 5It posts a combined Slack alert to the deploy author and the account CSM with the suspect commit, the spike, and the blast-radius scope.
Set it up
