Axiom Daily Log-Cost Attribution Digest by Service
Each morning it queries Axiom for the prior day's ingestion broken down by service and dataset, computes per-service cost.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerMorning schedule fires
- ActionQuery Axiom yesterday by service + datasetAxiom
- ActionQuery Axiom prior day for trend deltasAxiom
- LogicConvert bytes to cost and rank services
- OutputPost attribution digest to SlackSlack
What it does
Gives every service an itemized log bill. Each morning it pulls the previous day's Axiom ingestion grouped by service and dataset, converts bytes to dollars using your ingestion price, and ranks teams by spend with day-over-day trend arrows so a creeping emitter is visible before it becomes a spike.
When to use it
Use it for steady cost governance rather than incident response. It is the standing report that makes log spend a daily conversation and surfaces slow leaks that threshold alerts miss.
How it works
- 1A morning schedule triggers the digest.
- 2Query Axiom for yesterday's ingested bytes grouped by service and dataset.
- 3Query Axiom for the prior day's totals to compute trend deltas.
- 4A logic step converts bytes to cost and sorts services by spend.
- 5Post a ranked attribution digest to Slack with per-service dollars and trend arrows.
Set it up
What you configure once, before turning it on.
- 1Connect AxiomLog streams, queries, dashboards.
- 2Connect SlackChannels, DMs, threads, mentions.
- 3Set each agent's modelWe leave models unset so you pick the tier — fast + cheap, or top-quality.
- 4Tune it to your dataEdit the prompts, filters, and field mappings so it matches how your team works.
- 5Test, then turn it onRun once against a sample, confirm the output, then enable the trigger.
