ClickUp real-time per-assignee overload blocker
Fires whenever a task is assigned in the current ClickUp sprint, totals that person's assigned points.

What it does
This workflow guards individual capacity rather than the whole team. Each time a task is assigned or re-estimated in the active ClickUp sprint, it recomputes the assignee's total committed points for the sprint and compares it to that person's recent per-sprint delivery ceiling. If the new assignment pushes them past their proven limit, it immediately flags the specific person and ticket in Slack so the lead can redistribute before the imbalance hardens.
When to use it
Use it when team totals look healthy but work piles onto a few people. Aggregate forecasts hide individual overload; this catches it at the moment of assignment.
How it works
- 1A ClickUp webhook fires on task assignment or estimate change in the active sprint.
- 2The flow sums all sprint points currently assigned to that person.
- 3It looks up the assignee's trailing personal velocity ceiling.
- 4A logic step checks whether their load now exceeds that ceiling.
- 5If overloaded, Slack receives an alert naming the person, their total, and the triggering ticket.
Set it up
What you configure once, before turning it on.
- 1Connect ClickUpDocs + tasks + chats in one workspace.
- 2Connect SlackChannels, DMs, threads, mentions.
- 3Set each agent's modelWe leave models unset so you pick the tier — fast + cheap, or top-quality.
- 4Tune it to your dataEdit the prompts, filters, and field mappings so it matches how your team works.
- 5Test, then turn it onRun once against a sample, confirm the output, then enable the trigger.
