What it does

Every time a new ClickUp task lands in your support list, this workflow checks whether it duplicates an existing open ticket. If it finds a strong match, it leaves a comment on the new task proposing a merge and linking the original, so triagers don't reopen work that's already in flight.

When to use it

Run this on a busy support or bug-intake ClickUp list where customers and agents file overlapping reports. It's ideal when you want catch-at-creation deduplication without forcing agents to search manually before triaging.

How it works

  1. 1A ClickUp task-created webhook fires with the new task's title and description.
  2. 2The flow pulls recent open tasks from the same list for comparison.
  3. 3OpenAI embeds and compares the new ticket against candidates, returning the closest match and a similarity score.
  4. 4A logic step checks whether the score clears the duplicate threshold.
  5. 5If it does, the flow posts a comment on the new task naming the likely original, its URL, and the confidence, tagged for a human to confirm before merging.
