Datadog Sensor Breach to Monday Work Order
When a Datadog facilities monitor (temperature, humidity, power draw) crosses its threshold.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerDatadog monitor crosses sensor thresholdDatadog
- LogicDrop recovery/warn events, keep alerts only
- LogicMap monitor priority tag to work-order severity
- ActionCreate Monday work order with asset and severitymonday.com
- OutputPost work-order link to on-shift Slack channelSlack
What it does
Turns a Datadog monitor alert for a building sensor into a structured facilities work order without anyone manually re-typing the alert. Each breach becomes one tracked task with the asset, location, metric, and severity already filled in, plus an immediate ping to the team that owns the fix.
When to use it
Use this when your building sensors (HVAC, cold storage, electrical) report into Datadog and you want every threshold breach to land in your facilities team's Monday workflow instead of dying in an alert inbox.
How it works
- 1A Datadog monitor webhook fires when a sensor metric crosses its alert threshold.
- 2A filter drops recovery and warn-only events, keeping only alert-state transitions.
- 3A branch maps the monitor's priority tag to a work-order severity (P1 emergency vs. routine).
- 4An action creates a Monday item on the Work Orders board with asset ID, location, metric value, and severity columns populated.
- 5A final Slack message posts the new work-order link to the on-shift facilities channel.
