What it does

This workflow watches the gap between the exchange rate you booked a receivable at and today's spot rate. When currency moves quietly chip away at the margin on open invoices, finance usually finds out at month-end close — too late to hedge or renegotiate. This runs every morning and surfaces the erosion while you can still act.

When to use it

Run it when you invoice customers in currencies other than your functional currency and carry meaningful AR balances for 30-90 days. Ideal for finance and treasury teams who want a daily early-warning instead of a quarterly surprise.

How it works

  1. 1A scheduled trigger fires each weekday morning.
  2. 2A Snowflake query returns all open receivables with their original currency, amount, and booked FX rate.
  3. 3An HTTP call fetches today's spot rates from your FX rate provider.
  4. 4A logic step revalues each invoice, computes margin erosion per currency bucket, and flags any bucket past the configured basis-point threshold.
  5. 5If nothing breaches, the run ends silently. If something does, a Slack message lists the worst-exposed currencies, dollar impact, and the invoices driving it.
