PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Monday Daily WIP Bottleneck Digest
Each morning summarizes which Monday columns are near or over their WIP limits, has an LLM explain the likely bottleneck, and posts a ranked digest to a Slack channel for standup.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerWeekday morning schedule
- ActionPull items grouped by status column from Mondaymonday.com
- ActionJoin counts with WIP caps in PostgresPostgres
- ActionSummarize the day's bottleneck with OpenAIOpenAI
- OutputPost ranked digest to Slack channelSlack
What it does
Produces a once-a-day read on board health. It measures every status column against its WIP cap, surfaces the ones that are over or approaching the limit, and turns the raw counts into a short narrative the team can act on at standup.
When to use it
Use this when you want visibility without nagging — a single channel post that frames the day's constraints. Best for delivery teams that run an async or live standup and want the bottleneck called out before the meeting starts.
How it works
- 1A schedule fires each weekday morning before standup.
- 2The flow pulls all items grouped by status column from Monday.
- 3It joins counts against per-column WIP caps stored in Postgres and computes utilization.
- 4OpenAI writes a ranked summary explaining which column is the tightest constraint and why, in plain language.
- 5A logic step formats columns over 100 percent in red and 80-100 percent as warnings.
- 6The digest is posted to the team's Slack channel as a threaded, scannable message.
Set it up
What you configure once, before turning it on.
- 1Connect monday.comVisual work management for teams.
- 2Connect PostgresAny Postgres URL — query, write, migrate.
- 3Connect OpenAIModels, embeddings, files.
- 4Connect SlackChannels, DMs, threads, mentions.
- 5Set each agent's modelWe leave models unset so you pick the tier — fast + cheap, or top-quality.
- 6Tune it to your dataEdit the prompts, filters, and field mappings so it matches how your team works.
- 7Test, then turn it onRun once against a sample, confirm the output, then enable the trigger.
