Reroute pending Outlook approvals to a backup during OOO
When your Outlook automatic replies turn on, this finds approval emails still waiting on you and forwards them to a named backup with full context.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerScheduled check while Outlook OOO is activeOutlook
- ActionRead Outlook automatic-reply settings and end dateOutlook
- ActionSearch inbox for unanswered approval emailsOutlook
- LogicFilter out already-handled or reassigned threads
- OutputForward each pending approval to backup with contextOutlook
What it does
Detects when your Outlook out-of-office (automatic replies) status is active and sweeps your inbox for approval requests that are still unanswered. Each one is forwarded to your designated backup approver with the original thread, the requester, and a clear note that you are out and they now own the decision.
When to use it
You are heading out and approvals (POs, time-off, expense sign-offs) land in your inbox. You want them handled by a backup instead of piling up until you return.
How it works
- 1Trigger: a scheduled check fires while Outlook automatic replies are enabled.
- 2Action: read the OOO settings to confirm you are out and capture the configured end date.
- 3Action: search the mailbox for unanswered messages flagged or subject-matched as approvals.
- 4Logic: skip threads you already replied to or that name another owner.
- 5Output: forward each pending approval to the backup with original context and a takeover note.
