Trend-to-brief with Discord approval gate before Notion
Surfaces a candidate trending topic in Discord with a one-line pitch, waits for a thumbs-up, then generates the full video brief and thumbnail into Notion only after approval.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerSchedule starts the run
- ActionFetch trending results from Brave SearchBrave Search
- ActionSummarize top candidate into a pitch with OpenAIOpenAI
- ActionPost pitch to Discord and await reactionDiscord
- LogicContinue only if approved
- ActionWrite full brief and render thumbnailImage generation
- OutputSave approved brief to NotionNotion
What it does
This workflow adds a human checkpoint before any brief is written. It finds a trending topic via Brave Search, posts a short pitch into a Discord channel, and pauses. If a team member approves, it spends the LLM and image budget to produce a full short-form video brief with a generated thumbnail in Notion. If no one approves, nothing downstream runs.
When to use it
Use it when you want trend ideas surfaced automatically but refuse to auto-publish briefs without an editor's eye, or when you want to control image-generation spend by only rendering thumbnails for approved ideas.
How it works
- 1A schedule kicks off the run.
- 2Brave Search returns current trending results for your seeds.
- 3An OpenAI step compresses the top candidate into a one-line pitch.
- 4The pitch is posted to Discord with approve/reject reactions, and the run waits.
- 5A logic gate checks the reaction; only an approval continues.
- 6OpenAI writes the full brief and Generate Image renders the thumbnail.
- 7The approved brief and image are written to Notion.
