CUSTOMER SUPPORT
CEO-triaged proactive outreach for novel error patterns
When Datadog surfaces an unrecognized error pattern, the CEO agent investigates the logs, decides whether and how to reach out, drafts a customer-specific Intercom message.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerDatadog monitor: anomalous unclassified errorsDatadog
- ActionAgent pulls logs + customer contextDatadog
- LogicAgent assesses severity + outreach plan
- ActionPage on-call for severe incidentsPagerDuty
- OutputSend bespoke Intercom messagesIntercom
- ActionRecord incident note in PostgresPostgres
What it does
For errors that don't match a known signature, this hands the raw log cluster to the CEO agent. The agent reads the logs, reasons about blast radius and likely cause, decides which customers warrant a proactive Intercom note, drafts each message in the right tone, and pages on-call when it judges the incident severe — replacing a fixed rule with situational judgment.
When to use it
Use it as the catch-all for error patterns your deterministic rules don't yet cover, where a human-like read of the logs decides the response. Pair it with the rule-based flows for known signatures.
How it works
- 1A Datadog monitor fires on an anomalous, unclassified error cluster.
- 2The CEO agent pulls the relevant logs and affected customer context from Datadog and Postgres.
- 3The agent assesses severity and decides the outreach plan and message wording per customer.
- 4For severe incidents the agent triggers PagerDuty to wake on-call.
- 5The agent sends each chosen customer a bespoke Intercom message.
- 6It writes a short incident note to Postgres so the next run has memory of what was already handled.

- 3Connect IntercomConversations, contacts, articles.
- 4Connect PagerDutyIncidents, on-call, escalations.
- 5Set each agent's modelWe leave models unset so you pick the tier — fast + cheap, or top-quality.
- 6Tune it to your dataEdit the prompts, filters, and field mappings so it matches how your team works.
- 7Test, then turn it onRun once against a sample, confirm the output, then enable the trigger.
