What it does
Turns a freshly published deprecation into proactive outreach. It detects new deprecation entries in the corpus, identifies the affected endpoint, queries which customers are pinned to versions that still rely on it, and sends each a personalized warning before their integration breaks.
When to use it
Use it when you announce a deprecation with a sunset date and need to reach the specific accounts at risk, not blast your whole list. It shrinks support load on the eventual removal.
How it works
- 1A new deprecation entry is added to the changelog corpus, firing the trigger.
- 2The flow extracts the deprecated endpoint and its sunset date from the entry.
- 3It queries Postgres for customers whose pinned version predates the deprecation and whose usage hits that endpoint.
- 4A branch drops accounts already notified for this deprecation.
- 5It sends each remaining customer a tailored Gmail message naming the endpoint, their current version, the replacement, and the deadline.
