How it runs

The automated pipeline, trigger to output.

  • LogicSelect approval tier by amount and policy
  • ActionAuto-approve small in-policy claimsAirtableAirtable
  • ActionSend larger claims to manager or finance leadSlack
  • OutputWrite approval decision back to trackerAirtableAirtable

What it does

Applies tiered approval rules to every new reimbursement request. Small in-policy amounts are auto-approved and logged; mid-range amounts route to the employee's manager; large or out-of-policy claims route to the finance lead. Each approver gets a Slack message with the expense details and an approve or reject action, and the outcome is written back to the tracker.

When to use it

Use this when a flat single-approver process is too loose for big spend but too slow for routine claims. Tiered routing sends each request to exactly the right person based on amount and policy, cutting approval time on small items while keeping oversight on large ones.

How it works

  1. 1A new reimbursement row is created in the tracker, firing the trigger.
  2. 2Routing logic reads the amount and policy flag and selects the approval tier.
  3. 3Tier-one in-policy claims are auto-approved and marked in the tracker.
  4. 4Higher tiers send an approval request to the manager or finance lead in Slack.
  5. 5The approver's decision is captured and the tracker status is updated accordingly.
