What it does

This workflow handles the hard cutoff. When a safety- or access-critical certification crosses its expiry date, it marks the holder non-compliant and immediately alerts both the manager and the security team so any access that depends on the credential gets pulled.

When to use it

Use it for credentials gating physical or system access — forklift licenses, badge clearances, regulated-system certifications — where an expired cert isn't just a reminder issue but a real risk that demands same-day action.

How it works

  1. 1A daily schedule runs early each morning.
  2. 2The workflow queries Airtable for access-critical certifications whose expiry date is now in the past and that aren't marked renewed.
  3. 3A logic step confirms each is genuinely lapsed and tags the severity based on the credential type.
  4. 4It updates the Airtable row to status Non-Compliant with the lapse date.
  5. 5It sends an urgent Slack message to the security channel and the holder's manager naming the person, credential, and access to revoke.
  6. 6The alert thread captures who acknowledged it for the audit trail.
