How it runs

The automated pipeline, trigger to output.

  • LogicBranch on department and role to pick checklist
  • ActionCreate onboarding project in AsanaAsanaAsana
  • ActionAdd tasks with owners and due datesAsanaAsana
  • OutputEmail kickoff summary to manager and hireOutlook

What it does

Turns a new-hire record into a fully populated Asana onboarding project. It reads the hire's role, department, and start date, builds the matching task checklist (IT provisioning, payroll setup, benefits enrollment, first-week meetings), assigns each task to the responsible owner, and sets due dates relative to the start date. The manager and new hire receive a tidy kickoff summary by email.

When to use it

Use it when onboarding is repetitive but the exact checklist varies by role or department, and tasks currently get created by hand. Best for teams that already run onboarding in Asana and want zero manual project setup.

How it works

  1. 1An inbound HRIS webhook fires when a new hire is created.
  2. 2A logic step branches on department and role to select the right task template.
  3. 3Asana creates a new onboarding project from the chosen template.
  4. 4Asana populates tasks with owners and start-date-relative due dates.
  5. 5Outlook emails the manager and new hire a kickoff summary with the project link.
