HR & RECRUITING
Match open reqs to internal candidates by skill adjacency and send a Loom intro nudge
When a new internal req opens, scores employees by how close their skills are to the role, then emails the top matches an Outlook nudge linking a hiring-manager Loom intro.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerReq marked open for internal postingAirtable
- ActionFetch role skills + employee skill profilesAirtable
- ActionScore employees on skill adjacencyOpenAI
- LogicKeep matches above adjacency threshold
- OutputEmail top matches with embedded Loom introOutlook
What it does
This workflow turns every new internal opening into a shortlist of current employees who are one skill-step away from the role. When a req is published, it reads the role's required skills from Airtable, pulls the skills profile for active employees, and uses OpenAI to score each person on skill adjacency — not just exact matches, but adjacent capabilities that make the move realistic. The top matches receive a personal Outlook email that frames the opportunity and embeds the hiring manager's pre-recorded Loom intro, so the first touch feels like an invitation rather than a job posting.
When to use it
Use it when internal openings quietly get filled externally because the right internal people never hear about them in time. It fits talent and people-ops teams running a structured skills inventory who want mobility to be proactive — surfacing roles to employees based on what they can almost already do. Best when each manager has recorded a short Loom intro per req.
How it works
- 1An Airtable trigger fires when a req row is marked Open for internal posting.
- 2The workflow fetches the role's required-skills list and the skills profiles of active employees from Airtable.
- 3OpenAI scores each employee on skill adjacency and returns a ranked shortlist with a one-line rationale.
- 4A logic step keeps only matches above the adjacency threshold.
- 5Each match gets an Outlook email embedding the manager's Loom intro and a one-click express-interest link.
