What it does

Makes the social side of onboarding automatic. It assigns an onboarding buddy who actually has availability, schedules a first-week buddy 1:1 and a set of stakeholder introduction meetings, and gives the new hire a single Slack message with every meeting linked.

When to use it

Use it when new hires arrive feeling adrift because nobody owns the human connections. Triggering on start date guarantees a buddy and a warm set of intros are on the calendar before the hire's first morning.

How it works

  1. 1A scheduled trigger fires on each new hire's start date pulled from the roster.
  2. 2A logic step selects a buddy from the eligible pool by checking calendar availability for the first week.
  3. 3A Google Calendar event books the buddy 1:1, and additional events book intros with the listed key stakeholders.
  4. 4A logic step confirms every invite was accepted or flags conflicts to reschedule.
  5. 5A welcome message with all meeting links and the buddy's name is sent to the new hire in Slack.
