What it does

Breaks the cross-functional onboarding checklist into owned, dated tasks. Instead of one person chasing IT, Payroll, and Facilities, the workflow creates an Asana project for the hire and assigns each prep item to the right team with a deadline relative to day one.

When to use it

Use it when onboarding involves multiple departments and things slip because no single owner is accountable. Ideal for ops or People teams that already coordinate work in Asana.

How it works

  1. 1A scheduled check reads upcoming start dates from the HR Airtable base each morning.
  2. 2A filter keeps only hires whose start date is within the prep window (e.g. 10 days out).
  3. 3The flow creates a dedicated Asana onboarding project for each matching hire.
  4. 4Standard tasks are generated and assigned by function: laptop and accounts to IT, desk and badge to Facilities, direct-deposit setup to Payroll, day-one agenda to the manager.
  5. 5Each task gets a due date offset from the start date, and the project link is posted back for visibility.
