Critical-Role PTO Conflict Escalation

What it does
This is the high-severity guard. It watches new Outlook leave and checks it only against business-critical roles you have flagged — the ones where zero coverage is unacceptable. If the leave would drop a critical role to no qualified person available, it escalates instantly rather than waiting for a digest.
When to use it
Use it for single-point-of-failure roles: the only release approver, the on-call lead, the one person who can run payroll. Pair it with the softer guards — those handle ordinary overlaps, while this one fires only when a must-cover role goes uncovered.
How it works
- 1A new approved leave event lands on the Outlook calendar.
- 2The flow matches the absent person against the flagged critical-role registry.
- 3A branch checks whether any qualified backup remains available for that role on those days.
- 4If none, an agent assembles the escalation: role, dates, and the now-uncovered duties.
- 5The manager is paged via PagerDuty and the gap is logged to an Airtable register for audit.
