What it does

Gives candidates a short grace window before writing them off. Five minutes after the scheduled start, it checks if the candidate has joined the Zoom room. If they haven't, it fires a one-time urgent nudge with the live link, recovering candidates who simply lost track of time.

When to use it

Use this when too many of your "no-shows" are actually late arrivals who never got a reminder at the moment it mattered. It recovers borderline candidates before they are marked missed and before interviewers give up the slot.

How it works

  1. 1A scheduled check fires five minutes after each Zoom interview's start time, reading the day's interview list from Google Calendar.
  2. 2For each interview, it pulls the Zoom live participant list.
  3. 3A branch separates interviews where the candidate has already joined (do nothing) from those where they are still absent.
  4. 4For absent candidates, it sends an urgent email with the direct join link and the interviewer's name.
  5. 5It posts a heads-up to the recruiting Slack channel so the interviewer knows the candidate is running late, not gone.
