Repurpose a finished Google Doc into thread variants for a Discord review queue
When a Google Doc is moved into a Ready folder, extract its text, draft X and Mastodon thread variants.
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerDoc moved into the Ready Drive folderGoogle Drive
- ActionRead document text from Google DriveGoogle Drive
- ActionDraft X and Mastodon thread variantsOpenAI
- ActionPost variants to the Discord review channelDiscord
- LogicWait for the editor approval reaction
- OutputSave approved variants to the Approved folderGoogle Drive
What it does
Monitors a Google Drive Ready folder; when a long-form draft lands there, it pulls the document text, produces an X thread and a Mastodon-friendly variant, and posts both into a Discord editorial channel. Editors approve with a reaction, and approved variants are written back to Drive as a ready-to-post file.
When to use it
Use it when writers finish long-form work in Google Docs and your editorial team coordinates in Discord. It removes the manual copy-paste-into-thread step while keeping approval lightweight — a single emoji reaction.
How it works
- 1A document arriving in the Ready Drive folder triggers the run.
- 2The doc's text is read from Google Drive.
- 3OpenAI rewrites it into a platform-native X thread and a Mastodon variant.
- 4Both variants post to a Discord review channel with a clear approve reaction prompt.
- 5A logic step waits for the editor's approval reaction, ignoring rejects.
- 6Approved variants are saved back to a Drive Approved folder as ready-to-post copy.
