Discord Urgent Unanswered Question to Linear Escalation
Watches Discord support channels in real time and, when a question goes unanswered past your SLA window and looks like a bug or outage, opens a Linear issue with context…
How it runs
The automated pipeline, trigger to output.
- TriggerEvery 30 minutes (schedule)
- ActionFetch unanswered Discord messagesDiscord
- LogicKeep only items past SLA window
- ActionClassify as bug, outage, or generalOpenAI
- LogicBranch: drop general, escalate bug/outage
- ActionCreate Linear issue with contextLinear
- OutputPing on-call mod in DiscordDiscord
What it does
Catches the questions that can't wait for the daily digest. If a member's question sits unanswered past your time threshold and reads like a real product problem, it escalates into Linear and alerts the team so it gets owned.
When to use it
Use this when some community questions are actually incidents in disguise and a slow reply costs you. It separates genuine escalations from routine chatter and routes only the urgent ones into your engineering tracker.
How it works
- 1A scheduled trigger sweeps every 30 minutes.
- 2The flow pulls recent Discord messages still lacking any mod reply.
- 3A filter keeps only those older than your SLA window (e.g. 2 hours unanswered).
- 4An OpenAI step classifies each as bug, outage, or general question and assigns a severity.
- 5A branch drops general questions and keeps bug/outage items.
- 6A Linear issue is created for each with the message link, classification, and severity.
- 7A Discord alert pings the on-call mod role with the new issue links.
Set it up
What you configure once, before turning it on.
- 1Connect DiscordCommunity channels + voice + bots.
- 2Connect OpenAIModels, embeddings, files.
- 3Connect LinearIssues, projects, cycles, triage.
- 4Set each agent's modelWe leave models unset so you pick the tier — fast + cheap, or top-quality.
- 5Tune it to your dataEdit the prompts, filters, and field mappings so it matches how your team works.
- 6Test, then turn it onRun once against a sample, confirm the output, then enable the trigger.
